RULES TO COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES

intelligent

1.- Short adjectives add er to comparatives and est to superlative form.
short/shorter/(the) shortest
cheap/cheaper/(the) cheapest

2.- Short adjectives ending in e only add r or st.
late/later/(the) latest

3.- Short adjectives ending in y, change latter y for i and add er/est.
ugly/uglier/ugliest
happy/happier/happiest

4.- Short adjectives ending in consonant/vowel/consonant duplicate last consonant and add er/est.
big/bigger/biggest
hot/hotter/hottest

5.- Long adjectives add more/most.
intelligent/more intelligent/(the) most intelligent
expensive/more expensive/(the) most expensive

REGLAS PARA COMPARATIVOS Y SUPERLATIVOS

1 -. Adjetivos cortos agregar er para comparativos y est a la forma superlativa.
corto / corto / (la) menor
barato / más barato / (el) más barato

2 -. Adjetivos cortos terminados en e sólo añadir o st r.
 tarde/más tarde/(la) última tarde

hotter

3 -. Adjetivos cortos que terminan en y, cambiar por i, por último añadir er/ est.
feo / fea / fea
feliz / contento / feliz

4 -. Adjetivos cortos que terminan en consonante / vocal / consonante duplican última consonante y agregar er / est.
grande / más grande /el más grande
caliente / más caliente/ el más caliente

5 -. Adjetivos largos agregar más.
inteligente / más inteligente / (la) más inteligente
